Common Questions about Freedom Fire Shooting Sports Club
What sports are included?
FFSS include the shotgun disciplines of skeet, trap, and sporting clays. We have specialized training for the very selected athletes that wish to learn about International Shooting Sports.
How much experience should participants have to be on the team?
FFSS is a "no-cut" team sport. Shooting experience is not needed to be on the team.
How much does it cost to be on the team?
Costs to be on the FFSS team include uniforms, FFSS Club dues and SCTP registration fees
(for shotgun sports). The FFSS uniform consists of competition polo, practice shirt, safety glasses,
competition hat and shooting vest (or pouch) totaling approximately $120. FFSS Club dues
and SCTP fees total approximately $350, and cover the costs for gun rental, targets and
ammunition for two practices per month during the season. The season typically runs
October through April. Other costs may be incurred for competitive shooting events
and additional practices. The additional practice (3/per month total), uniforms, targets,
ammo, and registration fees for competition all inclusive of the $350.
Can I practice on my own?
Once you are comfortable with the basics of the sport, you can practice on your own at ranges.
You will be responsible for equipment, target and ammunition costs.
Can I participate in other sports, too?
FFSS practices are typically held on Sunday afternoons so as to not interfere with other sports or
activities.
What equipment should I buy?
For our practices, requirements are hat, eye protection, ear protection, FFSS shirt and closed toe shoes.
We recommend waiting at least 4 months before purchasing a shotgun or other shooting equipment.
Please talk with our Freedom Fire Coaching Staff prior to making this kind of an investment. QUOTE for New
